Course Outline – Biology
Since the discovery of the structure of DNA in 1953 by James Watson & Francis Crick and the advent of Molecular Biology and Genetics, the pace of change in Biology has been extraordinary. This has allowed rapid advances in medicine, biotechnology and genetic engineering, but these raise ethical and social issues that we want our students to approach from a scientifically informed viewpoint.
Biology is an exciting, relevant and hugely important subject to study and our staff bring their enthusiasm for their lessons. Excellent facilities exist for the teaching of biology.
